I'm interested in getting into designing GPS and RNAV approaches. Does anyone know of any courses available.

The approaches would be used for actual IFR ops in remote airstrips in developing countries where I typically work. I'm not some week-end warrior looking to go IMC into a grass strip based on a couple GPS waypoints.

Any help on finding some information would be appreciated.

Hi,

If you do google search on Pan-Ops design courses you will find a number of courses.

They are normally 4 to 6 weeks long.

I went on a briefing last night about the SHoreham RNAV appraoch which I understand is the the only one in the UK, which is at least a start, compared to the 8000 appx in the US.

The presenter was involved in the set up and testing of the Shoreham approach and is very well informed so if you are still looking I will contact him and see if he could at least advise you directly on how to go about it.

pm me if want to discuss further.

Try WX Systems (http://www.wx-systems.ch/training.htm) - it's not my specialist subject but I've never heard anyone say anything but good things about their training.
