It seems an CarpatAir bound to TSR has problems at landing gear.

I was seeing off a relative to Chisinau airport this morning and saw a Carpatair Fokker 100 being prepared for Chisinau-Timisoara flight. Chisinau airport webpage also sais it should have been a F100: International Chisinau Airport (Moldova) (http://www.airport.md/departures_en/)

Any clues as to why it turned to be a SAAB 2000?

''Terror in timisoara airport'' is a headline of a very known journal in romania, as I said some months ago, regardeless of the happy end of such an incident, some journalists are exagerating about that.
So I am very disappointed in reading these newspapers.......

As far as I know:
-the airport fire service doesn't have the special equipment needed to lay the foam carpet quickly
-the amount of water at the airport (ICAO CAT7) does not include any extra for runway foaming
By asking for runway foaming, the crew ended up with a runway not available for a long time and with less extinguishing agents in the trucks at landing.

Is runway foaming requested by Carpatair company procedures?

@Dani

Please, Dani, not again. The good (not always thaaaat goood) old time is forever gone... BTW, how many former LX's Saab A/C ended up with Carpatair Air?

@Moritz

Dear old Gran Pa Moritz S.,
I guess you must be proud of your crew and won't regret the money (not that much, but still, quite enough) you invested in Carpatair. And, I say, you're right to be proud, looking at their performance.

Now, remembering the two lethal crashes at your former airline in Switzerland, I hope you'll have a thanksful prayer for those who avoided a third one in Romania.
