I don't know of any either. I wonder if there would be enough interest to start a group of some kind?

May well be mate.. Think its likely to be in the only way to get one up this neck of the woods. I know there are some at Cambridge but thats a long way to go for an hours flight! Premier Flight Training at Norwich are looking at getting one. Wonder how much they cost to buy!!? Maybe I should divert some of my IR/ME/CPL costs that way! AGHH why is it all soooo expensive? :ugh:

Depends what you need it for... Hours building with only one or two up, you could consider an Aztec. They are (very) cheap to buy, though not very fast. They take a better load than the Seneca but if you want single engine climb performance i d not load more than 2 people in it.

If you want to go faster it s the Seneca or the Cessna 310 though the latter one is a maintenance risk due to it no longer being supported by Cessna so spares are an issue.

The DA42 is not an option since they have the issue with the Thielert Engines

The Cougar may be an option but is also underpowered (single engine performance)

Other planes may not be made in big numbers so hard to shift afterwards

There are a few places that i know of, but not really in the area you want.

Peterborough Connington
Flying Club Conington - Aircraft hire, flight training (http://www.flying-club-conington.co.uk/)
The usage is not massive so you could strike a deal on this one

Cambridge
Cambridge Flying Club - Flying lessons at Cambridge Airport Cambridgeshire UK (http://www.masfcambridge.com/)

You could if you want hire on the basis of a few days and re position the aircraft closer to your home.

There are some non equity groups that can also be some good if you choose to re position closer.

My beautiful Seneca IV is at Fowlmere near Duxford but not available for training or hours building nor jockey ferrying.... :)

If You re a seasoned pilot with plenty of hours on a Seneca III or higher and IF you get passed Derick Gunning's check out flight, you re welcome!

:D

vanHorck is it de-iced? I would be interested in occasional use assuming I could meet your exacting standards!

She has excellent boots (I thought all Seneca's from III upward were de-iced anyway, are they not?), electric props and heated windshield along with anything else you could wish this side of a full galss cockpit. I'm old fashioned....

Modern Air Home (http://home.btconnect.com/modair/) is where Derek and my baby reside....

PS Bose-X in her case, she is SHE, not an it... ;)
