Quick question about logging flight time:

I'm currently an FAA PPL temporarily living in Brazil. While I'm here, I've validated my FAA PPL in Brazil so I can fly locally-registered aircraft.

My question is:

In addition to logging time in my Brazilian logbook as required by local legislation, can I also log my flight time in Brazilian-registered aircraft in my FAA logbook? Or should the FAA logbook only be used for N-registered aircraft?

Cheers,

Dali

Why have two logbooks in the first place? You're not suffering from multiple-personality disorder are you?

Personally, if I were in a country that has some very weird laws with regards to logging time, I would keep a separate logbook for them just to cross the t's and dot the i's, but keep the full record of all my flying activities in my main logbook.

But I have never heard of any country that requires a separate logbook.

Log them all in the FAA logbook....

There is no rule in the FARs, that I have ever seen, in anywhere near this context, which requires anything whatsoever to be flown in an N-reg plane.

Nothing wrong with two logbooks; just extra hassle because one will have to present both when claiming one's total hours towards some piece of paper.

1) log everything in your main (in your case FAA) logbook, so your flying is consistently documented

2) if Brazil for some weird reason requires a separate one, then log the hours flown in Brazil in there too

Btw, how's GA flying in Brazil ? License issues, etc? I'm always interested in a new adventure ;)
