Plane crashes in take-off attempt

Three people were injured when an aircraft crashed in west Cornwall.
The private twin-engined plane, with an adult and two teenage children on board, crashed at Land's End Airport as it tried to take off to fly to Essex.
It ran off the runway and into a hedge, having failed to leave the ground, Devon and Cornwall Police said.
It flipped over after hitting the hedge, the fire brigade added. The three suffered minor injuries and were described as "walking wounded".
'Traumatic event'
The Diamond DA42 Twin Star aircraft was returning to Stapleford Airfield in Essex from the Cornish aerodrome near St Just.
Cornwall Fire Brigade incident commander Stuart Whitworth said: "Happily, the injuries do not seem to be be that serious.
"The casualties were taken off suffering from shock, obviously, from a very traumatic event."
The two teenagers were removed from the aircraft by the airport fire service, he said.
The pilot was trapped in the aircraft and cutting equipment was used to open a door. The man then walked away from the wreckage after he was released.
Investigators were to check accounts that the aircraft lost power while attempting take off, police said. Fire crews praised airport staff for their quick response to the emergency. The airport's fire and rescue service was on the scene within two minutes. The Air Accidents Investigation Branch is to be notified.
