Is there one?
I was looking for a good weekly/monthly magazine air traffic control based, but they all seem to be airport or world war 2 based!!

Very good question! Hope somebody can help us here.

The closest I have got to ATC magazines are the Eurocontrol ones:

- Skyway: about ATC in Europe (well, about ATC in Eurocontrol). It looks at all the different aspects of its ATC/ATM business. Some interesting bits, although there are a few "propaganda-like" articles (you know, general messages about projects/interaction/predictions without much technical content :)).

EUROCONTROL - Skyway Magazine (http://www.eurocontrol.int/epr/public/standard_page/skyway.html)

- Hindsight: addressed to controllers and a lot more interesting from my point of view. It looks at past ATC-related incidents to try and learn from the experience, draw conclusions, revisit concepts...

Library (http://www.eurocontrol.int/safety/public/site_preferences/display_library_list_public.html#3)

You can get both from the Eurocontrol website (you can also subscribe to get them in paper).

Hope this helps.

The International federation of Air traffic Controller's Associations puts out a good mag - written by practising controllers:

Use the "contact us" page and you will get a relatively quick response.

I'm just wondering what you're expecting? If you are looking for a lively magazine full of scary stories then forget it. The mags mentioned - IFATCA and GATCO (of which I'm a member) tend to be quite technical and you may find them boring. Before subscribing try to see a copy/copies.

Yeah I tried the contact us page

And I wanted a technical based one, I have looked at the magazines on the website and they are spot on. I have worn out any air traffic control books I can find and want an up to date regular magazine type thing.

If only the naughty scamps who produced 'Not Airway' were to start a new publishing run.:}

AirservicesAustralia has a magazine publishing department. There are various magazines published however most of the articles are written or approved by the "spin" department before release. Result= not worth the paper they`re written on.:ok:

Pre "PC", most ATC units would have quite a diverse collection of :mad: magazines, but probably not what JR is looking for! :}

Sir, I don't know what you are talking about so couldn't possibly comment !

I did have dinner with one of the supposed authors less than a week ago and I have half a dozen copies of the original publication signed by the authors.

I might put them on E Bay.

Grubby. :ok:

In Spain we have one, published every three months. You can read it on the web. In spanish only, although sometimes has some articles in english.

Mr_Grubby -never mind eBay, change a few details and re-publish the beggaring thing! With the age of many of our GMs today, it'd be an education for them.:}

"Not Airway" was one of the funniest things I have ever read. The new equipment page, where is the new site for NERC (as it was called then), famous r/t quotes, and also the names garbled with sayings. Those were the days when there was a sense of humour about and there were so many people laughing around the ops room. Bring out another one.
