What's what with AN12 prohibition into and out of the UAE?

At least in December there were still loads of them flying in the UAE.
Forbidden now? Or what do you mean?

Correct.

They're too old and out-phased even by antonov. They're not updating aircraft bulletins and stuff anymore, plus the recent incidents with that particular a/c type made local authorities pull the HALAS on them.

I kinda like it.

As of 8th Jan all AN12s were banned UFN within the UAE due to an incident at SHJ
That's about as much as we know at present

Reliable sources at GCAA have indicated that effective 08 JAN the Antonov An12 model has been banned to operate to + from any UAE airport.
