Nine sudden engine-stalls since April 2008 - anybody come across this type of HP compressor malfunction or CFM software mod?

See WSJ article at Safety Bid Accelerates For Airbus Jetliners - WSJ.com (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123128402658958947.html).

Good news is that sounds like there is a fix and no accident to date, though presumably could get your blood racing if both engines stall as in AF A321 incident ...

It looks like the 13 Jan 2009 compressor stall (see BBC NEWS | World | Americas | NY crash jet had earlier problem (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7839106.stm)) of the same unfortunate A320 which coincidentally was to land two days later in the Hudson might be another example of a HP compressor stall to be corrected by a CFM software mod.

In practice, if a susceptible engine has a demonstrated compressor stall, would the CFM software mod typically be made before that particular engine flies again?
