From 1st Dec two additional EDI-LHR services are being added. The timings are a bit strange though.

From looking at the timetables it seems the new service from LHR at 07:35 will be operated by F100. It then looks as though this aircraft does EDI-GLA-CPH before returning to EDI by the reverse route. It then seems to operate the 18:00 EDI-LHR flight. This gives poor spacing - 16:30, 18:00, 18:40 then 21:05.

The second addition operated by a 735 leaves LHR at 11:20 and returns at 13:20, again giving some strange spacing ex-EDI- 10:40, 12:45, 13:20 then 14:35.

Can't figure these "improvements" at all. Also from 1/12 it looks as though the A321 will no longer be used. Considering most mornings the first EDI-LHR is full I don't think the A320 will be enough.

Anyone shed any light on this?

The following is a quote from bmi press releases :

6 November 2001

"bmi british midland looks to extend Brussels Services"

"bmi british midland is poised to announce the introduction of services from Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds Bradford to Brussels.

The moves follows the uncertainty of existing services operated by the Belgian airline Sabena.

bmi has applied to the airport authority at Brussels airport for suitable slots to commence services as soon as possible."

Hope fully this will mean that a few more jobs will be secured !
