Please can I have Dash 8 pilots opinion. 400 Next Gen is same type rating, but is it safe same crew flying 200/300 and 400Ng also?
Thanks

Its been done before in the past and probably still happening.. Iv never heard of complaints in flying both types, often this is only for a short time while the airline updates its fleet with new Q400 replacing the older models. Its the same rating so hence on paper its safe!
Qantas Link crew on the 400 only fly the 400.
200 and 300 crew only fly the 200 and 300.

Quite an interesting topic. I'm very curious to see the various responses. However, from what I understand (and I stand to be corrected), there are only 3 operators worldwide where the 100/300 crew flies the Q400. Everyone else seem to spilt the crew. Who these operators are, I have no idea.
Say again!

I think Widerĝe (WIF) is one of these operators, but I'm not 100% sure :)

Is it safe? Yes. Why wouldn't it be? It's not that difficult, really... Did it in Widerĝe without any problems. Same as flying the 737CL/NG mixed, really. Same stuff - different wrapping! :)
...and NG is really just New Gear. All-in-all a pretty half-baked design, because of the commonality requirements with the 100/200/300 :ugh:
