bmi A320 G-MIDZ was ferried LHR-SNN on the 16th November. It isn't due back until somtime in late December. Anyone know if it's just for routine maintenance or could we be seeing it in a fresh coat of paint soon? :D

I know what U think, bmi paint a plane?! Well I can but hope!

MIDZ returned to Lessor, a new coat of paint is on the cards but not in bmi colours

It went to Shannon for a handback check

So MIDZ has left the BMI fleet? Thats a shame, always liked seeing her in the old colours (well, interim)

I didnt realise bmi were getting rid of some A320's. I thought only A321's were returning to lessor.

This aircraft is owned by bmi not leased. Probably doing charters or having maintenance

I stand corrected, it's having a "C" check

Ah so she'll be back? Does that mean she'll be having a respray into the current BMI livery too?

Absolutely no idea, but in the current climate I doubt it

The comments earlier were correct. G-MIDZ has operated its last passenger flight for bmi. Once its maint check in SNN is complete it is due to be ferried SNN-EMA on 19Dec. Once it has been repainted it will be handed back to the lease company and onward to its new operator by 24Jan.

G-MIDZ used to be owned by bmi, however it was sold and leased back several years ago.

Ah thats a shame. MIDZ was always easily recognisable being the only A320 still in old livery.

Yep DZ left the bmi fleet. Due to ferry SNN-EMA on the 20Dec as BD9561. Wonder if it'll be the 4th ex bmi A320 to go to Spanair?!

Why has bmi been getting rid of the A320? I thought the original plan was for the A321's to go.

Because they're very old, and a little knackered, 4 new 321s due soon, one arrived this year.

Very old? I thought BMI A320's were only about 10yrs old?
Yeah, i've seen the new A321 a few times.:}
Does this mean that all the A320's are up for replacement soon?

A320 G-MIDX is supposedly leaving the fleet early next year... Finally time to get rid of the Starbus still displaying old Star Alliance Members such as Ansett.

I saw G-MIDZ parked outside the BMI hangar this weekend with a nice new all-white paint job. Hopefully no-one will crash into it with all the recent snow :}

G-MIDX isn't due for handback until spring 2011, so the old star livery will be around for a while yet!
