Hiya all i've had a search regarding my question but i couldn't find anything!

I've got my stage 1 on Monday (Nov 10th) and my question is if i was to get over all the hurdles and be offered a place at the college are you able to ask for a later start date or is it purely at NATS discretion?

The reason for asking is that i've promised my gf that we will go to Florida see Disney etc etc and the only time we can go because of her uni and the need to save up is June.

Now i know i'l probably get replies telling me to be grateful if i got in and that i shouldnt be thinking about going on holiday and i understand that totally. But it would be nice to go somewhere we both love especially considering if i got in i would be moving to the other side of the country for at least 6 months and wouldn't get to see her very often for all that long :(

Thanks in advance for any replies.

not at all.
when i got offered a place at the college, it was for the june course but I was still at uni. i just told HR that I couldnt start due to my uni course and was bumped to the next one in October...it wasnt a problem at all. that was in 2003 so not sure if anything has changed.

On the current intake, some had deferred for various reasons - but their reasons were because of uni, work commitments e.t.c. It is at their discretion, and will usually be based on how many successful applicants they have. Hope this helps.

And also depends on how many recoursed-people they have filling up spaces!

.....And to be honest, if you have not completed your stage one yet, you are unlikely to be starting before the July course anyway. The January course is full and the April course is filling up with those that have passed stage 3 in the last month or so. On average, it seems to take about 3 months to get through the whole process, so good luck with it all, and enjoy your holiday! :ok:

Personally I'd just be concerned about getting over Stage 1 first without worrying about any College start dates yet.

Think yourselves lucky. When I applied it took two and a half years from applying to starting (early 200 course's). When I finally got on to a course I was given 4 weeks notice.
