I know this may not be the perfect place to ask the question, but the best option for a notoriously difficult subject to research.

Are there any local microlight operators in the Gloucestershire/Bristol area? I am in Cheltenham, a recent PPL holder, and want to get into Microlight flying. Preferably the smaller 3-axis types rather than those indisingushable from their heavier brothers.

I can go off and do the training, but are there any people/groups near me who I can join up with?

The official website was not much help...

BMAA Online Forums (http://www.bmaa.org/forums/default.aspx?f=15)

You may find this of help too;

Aviation Forums for pilots - from FLYER Magazine (http://forums.flyer.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=49147&start=0)

Hi James, yes, as Rod has kindly mentioned, I train folk on Eurostar G-SHMI at Cotswold Aero Club at Gloucestershire Airport (EGBJ), Staverton.

Take a look on the club's website www. cotswoldaeroclub.co.uk or if you wish, email on mike at poetpilot dot com and I can tell you more.

cheers
Mike

Why not pop into Redlands near Swindon or Clench Common just south of Marlborough. Both of these places are busy Microlight strips where you’ll find the grass roots Microlighter and the lighter machines.
