Just doing a college project on airlines safety......need a few ideas on how the growth if air travel in the future will affect safety.....

as an example.....

More crowded skies in future=high risk of collisions

any other ideas....

many thanks

Modern technology in aeroplanes to lower risk of collisions- Google TCAS
Modern computerised Air Traffic Control techniques
Better ground radar
Better training of Controllers and pilots
Modern navigation systems with precise positioning
Better autopilots and instrument approaches in bad weather

....haven't you got more ideas of your own than that one?

As already said I think technology will increase in the future to perhaps make air travel even safer despite growth. And in Europe a single air traffic controlled system too will go a long way to make the skies even safer.

However I do feel the true test will be shown when (and heaven forbid) something serious occurs onboard an A380 which may result in a full evacuation of a large jet. I know it safely past the test but at the same time, having to evacuate a full one (particularly EK when they introduce their high density ones) is a scary thought!
