BA CC / WT and WTP

Firstly, my thanks to the BA cabin crew who as always made my flight back to England recently feel like part of my holiday not a neccesary evil at the end of it. Although my friends in America were nice company there was nothing like getting on-board at LAX and experiencing the smart and elegant ways and sights of the BA crew, England in America!

As I pay for my own flights WTP is the limit of my luxury however a problem with my booking meant I was unable to upgrade it from WT to WTP and I had to take economy on my outward trip and what an experience it was. To me this wasn't just a case of I'm used to WTP so anything less will feel different, I sensed a change in the attitude of the cabin crew. The "We'll always try and help" was replaced with "I don't have time, lots of others to deal with" attitude.

Was I just experiencing a busy flight or is it a case of just not having enough time to give that personal touch? I'm curious, not angry. If I come across as unhappy, that's not the case, the free upgrade I got for my booking problem on the way home happily put the BA glow back in my cheeks!

Pleased to hear you had a nice trip!

Difficult to say what the reason for the behaviour was. It could have been anything. Perhaps greedy gits? There are always the odd ones that can't really be bothered and shouldn't have been given this job in the first place. Even if the flight was fully booked and extremely busy it's no excuse for behaving poorly and not trying to meet every customer's needs.

Just sounds like your typical one off bad trip Im afraid. The crew who work in WTP are the same crew who work in WT and indeed Club. First is the only cabin (at present) with its own dedicated and trained crew.

Thanks for the replies, I could tell that the First crew were different has they had a silver thing around their scarves but I didn't realise the rest of the aircraft was crewed from one large pool, still can't complain on the whole you all do an amazing job, and the company of such beautiful English ladies is very nice after being away :O

No, the First crew don't necessarily wear "silver things" round our scarves.. It's just a different way to wear the cravat.. Any of the girlies can wear it that way..

The Silver cravat is only for the CSD actually. Everyone else (including the pursers) wear a red and silver one! LOL! Not too sure what the situation is down in LGW though!

I think MrWomble is talking about the silver ring we wear on our cravats/scarves when we wear it under the collar, not inside the blouse.. when it looks like a "toggle".

13 please is correct, although a gentleman doesn't look too closely at a ladies blouse of course to have noticed such a difference... :)
