Mr Moderator Be warned!!

I travelled to the US in September armed with my ESTA form complete with 2 years authorisation, Virgin check-in had no knowledge of the new rules and issued me with the usual I-94. On arrival at US immigration the nice smiling gentleman ;) refused the completed ESTA forms and demanded an I-94 ( which I had filled in and kept in my bag). He stated that the system would not be up and running until January 09 even though the website states that it is usable now.

keep filling in those forms

you can apply for an ESTA now (as you have done) but the system is not going live until 12.1.09, or 60 days after the customs and border patrol issues its statutory notice.

having said that, you have to do a bit of digging to find that info, it would be helpful if this was flagged up on the ESTA home page. you now know how happy and helpful those jolly people at immigration can be!.

Be warned about what? Rasther harsh phraseology there, 365.

*I* don't particularly care - I have a green card - was trying to help folks like you.

Why didn't you post it (to all) in the active thread in Professional Training?
