Flash Earth Link to Winspurs Farm (http://www.flashearth.com/?lat=52.891639&lon=1.316274&z=15.8&r=0&src=msl) (Northrepps new site). For more info the website is here. (http://www.northreppsaerodrome.co.uk/)

Never heard of a strip at Dereham - do you have any idea how far from, and in what direction it is?

Can't see a Flint Farm on the O/S map but then names do change, and I can't see anything that looks like a strip on either Flash Earth or Google Earth. Seems odd when the WW2 airfield of Wendling is only a mile away. If I can find out any more I will let you know.

Next time I go for a drive in the country I'll try and get over to Hoe Lane and see if I can find out any more. I've never heard of any one flying from here in the 16 years I've had a PPL, so I suspect it may be long gone, or just somebody making occasional use of a field.

Bottle Lane is north of Warfield Hall. Google reveals a planning application for a mobile home at Ashley Farm Bottle Lane in 2006/7.
Warfield Hall was home to the Sopwith family. A pre WWII strip seems feasible.

Indeed there is a strip at Longham, it's in this field (http://www.flashearth.com/?lat=52.709449&lon=0.880631&z=16.8&r=0&src=msl) It runs NE/SW and from Google Earths ruler is about 300mtrs long. Since there are sheep grazing at the moment, and as it doesn't appear in either the Microsoft or Google databases, I wonder if it is not a full time strip. The picture in the link shows hay? bales, so I guess that it might only be mowed at certain times.

Location of WHITEHILL FARM (not White Hill Farm) has been declared as "Kent".

Apparently the landing fees are a bit steep and there's an guy going by the name of Bluebottle, who hates anoraks.

Lichfield, Staffs, SUTTON FARM – could this be “Sittles Farm”?
Home_page (http://www.sittlesflyers.com/index.htm)

Its airstrip is close to but not the same as Roddige Airfield, which is used by “The Microlight School”.

Re: "Lane Farm Clyro Hereford"

Here is the website for Lane Farm Airpark. Not really near Hereford, but close to Hay-on-Wye, so you can fill your boots with old books....well not too many, they can be heavy.

Martinburney et al,

You are correct and Flint Farm is still there - my bank owns it & lets me live there for a HUGE amount of money every month.

It's the MOB for the Norfolk Air Force and currently houses my very offensive SkyRanger Swift...

I think Nottage Farm, Porthcawl, is dead now, most of the Farm Land there is up for sale. And most aircraft go to Old Park Farm, Margam, Port Talbot.

Hi All,
Just to inform you that Martin passed away about 2 years ago and I have not heard what happened to his databases- which is a great pity as he helped me occasionally.
In 2004 I set up a Yahoo group (Airstripslist-UK) and have listed airstrips not mentioned in Pooleys, Lockyear's etc in 18 counties in southern England. Due to long-term disability and illness I did not cover the rest of the UK and have rarely recently updated the listings which are presented in files.
If you have joined the group recently or wish to join I warmly greet you and it is not necessary to post to the group.
It is hoped that all my info will be incorporated in the enthusiast sites of LAAS and Air-Britain sometime soon.
Regards, Richey Ward.

Do you know if the Margam Strip is available to anybody? Or are there any other strips nearby??

The location of this strip is just north of the A10, between Melbourn & Meldreth.
Runs parallel to the railway line & next to a sewage farm
Access is by road from A10 to sewage farm. Single runway & hanger.
Currently based is G-HMCB SkyRanger noted 10/6/12.
Might also be known as Meldreth-Valley Farm

Just punch those places into Google, and you'll almost certainly get a post code, if not information that will allow you to deduce it investigatively.

Then get on Google Earth, and look in the immediate vicinity for something that vaguely resembles a long rectangle!

Works for me :)

Slight note of caution here - I would make sure you have the airstrip Owners permission before adding their strip to an unrestricted access database. If they are not already in Pooleys/Lockyears etc it may be for a reason!

Do you know if the Margam Strip is available to anybody? Or are there any other strips nearby??

I keep my aircraft at Margam (and a share may be available ;)) Available to visitors with PPR (PM if you want number).
