I was just wondering if anyone might have any information on ATC in Japan. I can't seem to find much information through Google. Heck, this leads me to an idea: a sub-forum or something for folks looking for employment outside of their home-countries. I know quite a few controllers that have been seriously considering employment in the middle east, Australia, etc., and would probably appreciate a centralized source of info. I think that would be a fairly useful tool.
Back to my original question, does anyone know about ATC in Japan?

From my enquiries a few years ago, they don't accept applications from non-Japanese citizens. I looked at trying to gain employment in their training college. As much as they would have loved a native English speaker there, they were constrained by the citizenship issue.

Good luck.

A comment in the Civil Air forum quoted a recently resigned Jap ATC explaining the dire annual leave situation... just a handful of days being approved each year supposedly.

Beautiful country though.
