Hello, I am new at pprune but have searched for ?. Would like to get info from any current ATR capt at KINGFISHER.
1. Do they still have you pay for your way to interview. What can I expect for ?. most post almost year old on these forums

2. What kind of lines are common for the schedules.

3. Have 1200 hrs pic on ATR, but have not flown the airplane in 12 months
will they get you current. Just furloughed from american co.

4.Can you commute back to the states.

5. Still safe to bring family over.

6. Can one eventually upgrade to another a/c within the co.

Thanks for your input

What's the upgrade time to the jet for ATR drivers? Heard a rumor that some Indian airlines were promoting their ATR captains to jet captain without going through the right seat first, is that true?

if you dont have @ least 100 hours PIC type say A320 or B737
you wont go to the party...................its DGCA req.
india is safe, no problem with family, never has been an issue
you can commute, all the airlines now give either the money to go or the will give you economy class ticket up and down when off

No upgrade to A320/330 at Kingfisher, if they promise you st. don´t buy it (DGCA rule is no problem if company provides the training). You can ask guys who have been flying with the company from the beginning (over 3 years) and after all the promises had been made the are still jumping shorthauls with ATR...
To bring family is safe, food, schools and medical facilities is no problem, but the quality of life depends quite significantly on the city you are based...
At KF you would be flying all over India, nice and colorful country.
The serious issue at KF is rostering - no valid roster, only phone calls the evening before. Means no privat life, you never know if they don´t position you the same day evening for next few days somewhere (which happens very often).
Money on time, recurrent sim no prob.
My suggestion - go to JET, flight ops / rostering under control and better money.

you should avoid this air carrier , i flew for them last two years, and every day you have to fight against a inefficient management, inefficient roster after three years they are still unable to give you a roster for the next week, you know your roster at 5pm for day after. you are a slave for this air carrier.
they piss you off to buy your weeks off because they dont have enough pilots. But they pay your weeks off cheaper than your normal weeks.
when i resigned they didnt pay weeks off they owed to me, they did that also with other captains. i stop there because i can write 2 pages on stupid things who happen with them
Bombay management is so inefficient and stupid , with one of the best contract on atr they still not understand why they dont find pilots.
best choice is jet airways, i ve a friend who work in this company and he is happy
i confirm no upgrade on airbus, for that go to vietnam airlines but you will have to pay around 1000€ for your screening, hotel, pick up, air tickets even on vietnam airlines

yup, the news is true Jet is surely in dire need of ATR drivers so much so that they have even asked some of thier capts who transitioned from the ATR to the 737 to go back on the ATR, expecting delivery of about 10 ATR'S in the coming year or two

Hey Sam, are you with CEB HR? Are the FO slots for the ATR full already?

sam avila
18th Sep 2008, 06:58
I'm with Flt. Ops. There are still a few FO slots open but we don't seem to have any problem with FO recruitment.

Expat TRIs of course should be type rated. Preferably with a minimum time of 3000 hrs total, 1500 PIC, 500 as TRI on type.
Expat Captains should be type rated. 3000 hours total time, 1500 hours PIC, 500 on type.
Local Captains should hold a Philippine passport or have the legal right to live and work in the Philippines. 3000 hours total, 1500 hours PIC, 500 hours multi engine turbine time. ATPL holder.
Local FOs should hold a Philippine passport or have the legal right to live and work in the Philippines. Minimum 500 hours total, preferably with 100 hours multi engine time. CPL/IR holder.Best regards.

Many Thanks, Sam. I heard that CEB might take all options on the ATR's. If that's the case, that would be awesome!

Hi all,

Looking for an ATR capt job. I'm type rated but have not flown the a/c since 2002... The few places I have tried said I need to have flown my last flight in the last year... I have applied to Jetairways and Kingfischer.. Rishworth said that I had to have had my last flight in the previous 12 months....Are there any other places that I should try? Any suggestions would be welcomed...Thanks
