don't know who makes them, but our company told us to treat those clipboards nicely as one piece costs 600 USD (or was is 900?) - totally ridiculous price anyway.

Do not worry about the cost of your clipboard...
The plastic toilet seats and seat cover for our old 747s are $650/unit.
When parking them in the desert next few months, I know what souvenirs to take with me.
Got 18 toilet seats to collect per airplane...
Will sell them half price to your airline... deal...?
Sorry, will not have the maintenance records of the seats.
Assume they are high-cycle - around 800,000 passengers-movements each.
Will get an engineer (A&P) to zero-time them if you want to...
Parts for planes - are expensive - TSO'd toilet seats...
xxx
:)

Actually, I bet with a little further engineering, they would make dandy bar stools...:}

I'll get my coat now and depart the premises

I thought you meant the clipboards that clutter up the Airbus cockpit after Boeing luddites don't let go following the training and realise they don't need them any more once they have a civilised office to work in :E

In the 737-200's circa 1976 ish, the dinky little altitude (whatever you use it for ) reminder thingy on the control column like a combination lock, was worth over $1500US. ..Our chief pilot elected to have Boeing remove them off our new aircraft inventory because of the ridiculous cost.

When the B707C came out, it had a telescopic eye position indicator for seat adjustment. IIRC they were about US$250 each (remember this is 40 odd years ago). They lasted about 1 week!!
