Handheld GPS

Looking to purchase a handheld Garmin GPS 296 or similar.
Does any one know where I can obtain one from that will be able to give me a VAT receipt and is not a pilot store?
Want to bill it to my company as an automotive gps system.

The Garmin 296 is an automotive GPS system. Conveniently, it also happens to have an aviation mode.

I did exactly this when I purchased my 496 last year. From a pilot store. And had a VAT receipt. No problem at all.
It shouldn't matter where you buy it - your local pilot's store could have them on special offer compared to a regular retailer anyway.

As No Foehn says, its a convenient automotive satnav tool which happens to have an aviation mode too. At the risk of starting a holy war though, I have to say that having used both, the Tomtom has a better route calculation strategy than the Garmin does. On the ground, at least!

I've been very pleased with my 296, and yes it does have an automotive (& marine for those so inclined) option albeit not very detailed but usable all the same.
I got mine cheap at AeroExpo from Transair, got a VAT receipt too.
