Part of last year's at Tannkosh.

But it did end up at two checkouts: the Mogas chaps were pulled from the queue (which stretched a good bit further than the corner) and had a sub queue at their pump.

There is something about fly-ins and fuel.

I recall a sunny PFA fly-in at Wroughton where having waited all day for fuel (mobile bowser) it became obvious the easiest way to get it, was fly down to Compton Abbas! Which we duly did enjoying Salisbury cathedral turning a honey colour in the evening sunlight.

These days I try to arrive at events with more than enough to get somewhere else.

Methinks tankering might be in order

Don't you need a licenced engineer to tanker with your aircraft?

Tankering is not the answer! We tried it at Cranfield the first year back after Wroughton, and even with fuel on site, avoiding the problem of tankers breaking down on the road after bunkering, we couldn't get round the airpark quick enough to meet the demand. It was bloody hard work slogging round, sweltering in the sun, without having to put up with dogs abuse and numpties smoking air side. You'd think people would know better and if you tell them to put it out what do they do, drop the damn thing on the floor. Dry Grass and fuel vapour is a disaster waiting to happen. :ugh:

Sorry geezers , forgot where i was for a sec  tankering is carrying enough fuel for your return trip as it is either cheaper than buying it at your destination or it not being available , sorryyyyy

It was the royal aero club air races.25 aircraft all wanting fuel at the same time, thought the refuellers were great.
