Hey I was just wondering if anyone knows where I can get some IREX Syllabus information (something similar to the VFR syllabus guide). The only thing I've found is the CAO requirements for a MECIR on the CASA website.
Also any other advice on what to expect in the exam would be muchly appreciated! Thanx in advance! :ok:

Hey Pilotett,

The CASA IREX Syllabus is located in CAO 40.2.1 Appendix III.

When I completed the IREX (about 6 ATPL exams ago:{) it contained a significant number of questions on;

1. TAFs and TTFs relating to holding/alternate requirements,
2. Given VOR/ADF/DME data, find TE or drift, and
3. Interpret information from DAP plates

Try and obtain the "Instrument Rating Study Guide" from Bob Tait. I used it with some other supplementary material and pulled 95% :}

My final word of advice - make sure you read and then re-read every question. (almost got tripped up a few times)

Hope this helps. Best of luck with the exam :ok:
