I'm planning on flying in to the Goodwood Festival of Speed this Saturday. Seems a bit unlikely looking out of the window right now but let's hope for benign meteorological conditions...

I've spoken to the very nice people there and all that. Got my slot.

Anyone else going and anyone got any handy hints and tips?

...but I've flown into EGHR a few times. Given it's a grass strip runway, I reckon you'll need VMC on the day AND a couple of days dry wx otherwise it'll be quite boggy there.

Not sure what the drainage is like ?

Looking positively though, this low pressure has got to shift at some point and the earlier it's here, the earlier it'll leave. Here's hoping it's a brand new anti-cyclone for Saturday morning :)

Last summers Azores High didn't materialise in enough strength to push the Atlantic depressions over the north of the UK. Looks like this summer is turning out the same, it's barely pushing 1024mb at the moment :bored:

Not sure what the drainage is like?

South Downs = Chalk. Should be OK.
