Does anyone know what the process would be in controlling at an AFIS field, such as Wolverhampton, Wellesbourne would the application be throught NATS or is this totally different ?
Which leads to Part 2 of my question where do you look for AFIS jobs ?

All Advice would be appreciated :)

Kind Regards

Matt :) :)

Aerodrome FIS is not 'controlling'. That is the last thing it is.
If you have a FISO licence you will already know that.....I hope.
If you haven't got a FISO licence you will need to read CAP427 available at:

http://www.caa.co.uk/application.aspx?catid=33&pagetype=65&appid=11&mode=detail&id=39

If you want an aerodrome FIS job contact the aerodromes directly. It could be that there are unadvertised vacancies available 'on spec', full, or more probably, part-time.

NATS FISO jobs are as area (FIR) FISOs. One cannot walk straight into those. One has to have several years of experience as a NATS NERL ACC ATSA. I don't believe NATS have any aerodrome FISOs. Those in the Highlands and Islands are now employed by H & I.

Good luck.....
