Hi guys,

Quick question - What are typical shift times for someone working in Brisbane or Melbourne Centre?

I mean start and end times, not hours.

thanks

Scott

So many options, it depends completely on where you work.

Most locations/groups have a forward rotating roster.

Example shifts are:
0500-1100
0530-1200
0600-1300
0630-1400
0630-1430
0700-1500
0800-1600
0900-1600
0900-1700
1100-1900
1200-2000
1300-2000
1300-2100
1400-2100
1400-2200
1500-2300
1600-0000
1700-0000
2100-0500
2200-0600
2300-0600
0000-0700

Then there are 7 hour rosters, 8 hour rosters, and anything up to 10 hours.

Minimum time off between shifts is 10 hours rostered; 8 hours if returning on an 'overtime' basis.

We are rostered for 72 hours a fortnight.

An Example pattern 1500-2300, 1300-2100, 0700-1500, 0600-1300, off(called for overtime but you refuse), off(overtime shift), 1400-2200, 1100-1900, 0500-1100, 2200-0600, off(called for overtime but you refuse) off (overtime shift). Then it repeats.

Many locations work a night shift at least once every 6 days, sometimes more.

Regional towers that close at night obviously don't work night shifts.

Hi,

Thanks for this. This is exactly the info I'm after.. however.. what you've listed only covers 12 days... is that right? It repeats after 12 days?

Thanks again.

It repeats after 12 days? Well it does where I work, some places have very different rosters, it totally depends on your role and the location even across a 'single centre' there are very different rosters.
