Hi All,
I understand that to become an ATC you need 5 GCSEs A-C including English and Maths which I have. However I do know you have to do training for ATC in Bournemouth. Is there anyway I can do training in Wales preferbly South Wales (Cardiff area).
Thanks
Chris.

There are 2 other colleges as far as I know.

One in Gloucester, used to be Rudloe, now Astac and one in Cwmbran BAE Systems. Both have good reputations and the websites have lots of info.

Your course would usually be paid for by your unit if you joined them as a cadet but there are those hardy souls who self fund, not cheap but usually safe enough to get employment when you finish.

Thank you,
The Cwmbran BAE Systems, is that used for commercial airlines at airports like Heathrow, Cardiff, Gatwick etc or is it the Royal Air Force and/or other military?
Thanks

http://www.cwmbrancollege.com/ this is a good site with lots of info.
No to answer your question, although BAE's main business is military defence etc (generally for foreign students) it offers a range of civilian courses with the required uk atc certification gained at the end.

Check out http://www.nats.co.uk/text/9/careers_training.html
NATS training can lead to jobs at places like Gatwick and Heathrow, this is the college in Bournemouth.

Good luck!

Thank you very much for all your help. Cwmbran is close to me, but I wish to do ATC in big international airports like Heathrow so therefore it can only be Bournemouth College.
Thank you for the links
Chris.
