Was in the Telegraph as well, sounds like a load of crap. It must be one hell of a plane that it missed if it had to climb 10,000ft.

Reading between the lines - anyone reckon it was a go around?

There's no mention of the time delay between the child in the cockpit and the climb.. it could be tens of minutes.
