The Wiltshire Flyers are Holding their second Spring Fly-In on Saturday 26th April at Inglesham Farm Strip which is approx 2Nm ESE of Fairford Airfield and situated adjacent to the River Thames between Letchlade and Highworth. Kettle will be on from 10:00hrs.
Lat/long 51° 39.98N 01°42.55W Elevation approx 243ft Length 600 yds. Circuit height 1000ft Circuit direction 24 Left Hand 06 Right Hand. Due to the proximity of the strip to the Brize Norton zone a polite call with your intention to land at Inglesham would not go amiss. With the field in sight use safety com 135.475 to listen for traffic and to transmit your intentions. There may be non radio A/C joining so maintain a good lookout for other traffic and join overhead, non radio aircraft please check signal tee and windsock for landing direction. There are trees on the approach to Rwy 24 and there is no run off as there is a stream running across the end of the runway so if in doubt go around. The Strip Is Narrow and there are shallow drainage gullies on each side. There is a ridge over a drainage culvert 100yrds from the end of Rwy 24. There might be soft spots on the taxi way dependant on the weather. Aircraft will be marshalled to avoid these as required.
Website (http://www.wiltshireflyers.org.uk/events.htm#Apr%2008%20fly%20in) or
PM for further details
Due to the proximity of both the River and the Brize Norton Zone a pre departure briefing is advised to ensure that the strip is open
Call 07765871634 on the day. :ok:

Hoping several of the Upfield Farm squadron will attend.

Windy - as luck would have it, I have to take Junior to a football match some 5 nm from Inglesham on Sat am. Rather than stand and watch them lose by a cricket score, I'll come and help judge the landings competition. I know just what a bad one looks like, and my former (all retired, but recovered) instructors will vouch for that.

So if you see a good-looking guy who appears to be knowledgeable in all matters aviation, keep looking, as I'll be somewhere else :ok:

If you're coming by road then there will be signs from the A361. The strip is accessed from a loop of the old road. There were some complaints last year that our signs were a bit small so look for the Forge restaurant signs, then you should find us. ;)

Want to say a very sincere thank you to all that flew in to the Wiltshire Flyer's fly-in at Inglesham today. We had 46 visitors, all the burgers and bangers got eaten, the soggy Orange cake disappeared AND we raised somewhere in the region of £240 for charity. The weather cooperated as last year and a great time was had by all!!

Hope to see you all at Lower Upham in September (21st).

Cheers,

Tony

ps. and thanks to Mariner9 for the ride in his superb aeroplane....I'l be in touch.

A pleasure Condorite. Looking forward to hearing further details of the forthcoming event :oh: ;)

Mrs M9 & I had a great time, though we both ate way too much of that scrumptious orange cake :ok:
