Well, have told pretty much everyone else :), might as well tell you... Did my first solo the other day...! And what a rush! :)

I know you already know what I mean... But Man... Guess in a few more days it'll sink in what I've actually done... :cool:

What amazed me the most is how the flight itself was pretty much a non-event... Had been up earlier doing 6 landings and a bunch of holding, orbiting, extended downwinds etc; way too busy in the pattern for a 1st solo... Then half an hour on the ground to have a cup of coffee and relax a bit, waiting for everyone else to leave; and up again for two touch and go's and a full stop, solo. No biggie, but what a rush!

Looking forward to my first solo nav; am really even more excited about that one...

This flying stuff is just way too much FUN! :):):)

Congratulations on your first solo!:D

I remember mine as clear as anything, I was in the circuit with my instructor when we landed he took control and taxied the aircraft in, I thought I had done something wrong the way he took control all of a sudden! Then he just turned round and said "you're going solo" those words will stick with me forever, fantastic experience.

Wait until you do your qualifying cross country! The feeling of landing back at your home aerodrome after a long cross country is very satisfying!:)

Yeah, am pretty much looking forward to all of it... Did the first post-solo flight today (dual), 'just' general airwork, but with more precision and a few great hints thrown in... Followed by a zero-flap landing from a slip ("Yes, I do mean it, you are to use full rudder!" :eek: ). It's pretty interesting how even dual instruction flights are suddenly a lot more fun after the solo.

Well done, it's such a good feeling.

I think everyone remembers their first solo. It's just fabulous.

Info Delta is right; QXC was equally fab.

Well done,feels good doesn't it?

Are you saying for your first solo you did 2 t&g's and then a full stop,because that kinda makes 3 flights:) on your first solo? Don't forget to mark the 3 t/o and landings in your logbook.

Congratulations!

I have been told I am ready but am having to spend some extra time obtaining my medical due to one or 2 additional checks I have to get done :(

Yeah, three flights on 'first solo'... Think that's pretty much the norm around here (to do a couple touches on the first solo), but maybe not so in the UK?

Three circuits is a standard first solo in the US.

I was told to do just one circuit,one T/O and one landing.
Still remember it with amazement ,and will do for rest of my life.
I am so glad I learned to fly and was taught at a brilliant school with great long term instructors who were not passing through on their way to commercial avaition.
I regret I didn't do it earlier but I was into sailing and then motorsport and you can't do it all,well not on my income anyway!
