Dutch news site reports the aircraft was enroute from Paramaribo to Benzdorp. Apparently a landing accident. Around 20 people on board; at least 15 killed.

Another sad day, my thoughts go out to the families of the victims.

Does the caption to the map not say 20 Dead? The An28 looks like a Turbo Commander with fixed gear and an A-10 tail, and too small to carry that many pax. Looking for more reportage. Shame

20 death confirmed, 2 pilots, 18 pax (amongst 8 Brazilians).

Very sad details; the female pilot was the wife of the owner of BWA and her brother saw the crash. Apparently happened during landing when the aircraft suddenly pulled up sharply.

According to sources I can find, the AN-28 has 2 Crew and max. 19 Pax. So it is possible.

Apparently she (the captain) made a go-round because her brother was still on the runway in a different aircraft. Whilst going round the plane caught fire causing the plane to bank heavily and crash.. :(

(That's what is being said in a Dutch newspaper the Telegraaf.. Not the most reliable source...)
