I've heard that the BBMF Spitfire lost it's canopy today. Anyone know if it (and the pilot) are OK?

These aircraft are just too precious to damage - do hope the occurrence was unavoidable.
Is there any more info on what happened?
How bad is the Spit? Pleased the pilot is ok.

Well, the BBMF had five Spitfires at the last count, unless you know something I don't.

I know a company that still makes them - canopies that is - if they are short of one - Suntex

I believe the tailplane was holed and has been removed for repairs
