I know this is a Rumours network, hence this is a "rumour" and i may have some of the information wrong. While working a Heathrow yesterday an AA 777 landed with full firecrew waiting on the edge of the active, I believe it was 27R.

After to speaking to fire crew, the issue appeared to have been a lack of fuel on arrival... does anybody have any info or heard of this before. I know some airlines cut it fine now, but surely not fine enough not to make the Rwy....?

Was returning to LGW at about 1800 on Weds 5th and an American a/c (AA151 I think) was on the same London freq requesting diversion to LHR. when asked by the controller for the reason the pilot stated that sparks had been seen in one of the overhead pax reading lights and they were diverting as a pre-caution to get it looked at. At the time they were still dumping fuel.

Not sure that this was the same a/c but would certainly explain the presence of our fire-fighting colleagues.

Very good call in my opinion.
