They are DESPERATE. If you have a 767 licence, you are a walk up start, I reckon you could get the job over the phone. As for conditions, if it's a job with Qengineering, then it would be the award wages, terms and conditions.

seems award explains why they can,t get staff plus the HR people seem so high and mighty they think advertise and they will come.

I bumped into a dock mate whilst working down the hangar last week. Initially we were
talking about the HM issues and the EBA but the chat strayed onto some other issues
including Brisbane.

He told me a large number of LAME's at BNE had either left or were in the process of leaving
and heading to a Mid East carrier.

As company spy said they must be desperate as that advert appeared after the employment freeze.
According to that staff Email only Dixon or Greig can personally OK employment during the
said freeze.

There was also an ad the same day for Avalon although via Forstaff for 747 LAME's.
What's going on down there?

Same deal Big E, Avalon also desperate. The ironic thing is that pretty soon even if Qantas wanted to produce a quality heavy maint product in this country, they wont have the skills or resorces to achieve it. Hope they have lots of slots booked up in asia, get ready to be held to ransom........
