Quick question for anyone in the know.

Can a 170A signatory conduct a 170A flight for a student who he/she has trained?

I'm sure the answer must be written somewhere but I can't find it.

Thanks

Yes.

Bear in mind that the 170A flight test does not in itself lead to the issue of a licence or a rating. It merely allows the student to proceed to the next stage, that of a skills test. Think of it as a progress test.

If you are truly ready then it would not matter which 170A examiner you flew with because you would be READY. If you fly with the one that trained you there may occasionally be an easier ride that could cost you dearly at the skills test if there were areas of weakness not previoiusly dealt with. It shouldn't happen but it can and does...

The F170A is not a test, its a Course Completion Certificate which may be completed when you have satisfactorily passed your end of course progress test.

It is not a JAA requirement to complete a 170A flight, so they have no rules that apply to it!
