May be of b all interest to anybody but I liked them, pics taken today 9/3/08 during a flight by my mate Tony, very nice flying today, allegedly the calm before the predicted storm, hope everyone tied down well.

Yeah, nice bit of Javascript scripting.

When looking at the page that lists the single image (not the index page) go to View; Page Source (or something similar) and search for the "<img src=something>" tag (which may contain some other info as well). Hint: search (Ctrl-F) for "img". Take the image name, and replace the last bit in the URL (something.htm) with the name of the image. This prevents the Javascript from loading so you can right-click and make it your wallpaper.

An alternative method is disabling Javascript in your browser altogether. Or you can go to your internet cache on your harddisk, where the picture is stored too.

It's very simple. Once the picture is displayed on your screen, it's in your computer and there's nothing that the copyright holders can do to prevent you from doing things with and to it. I have to admit that this trick is pretty creative and I've never seen it before, but it's easy to circumvent anyway.

Now whether the copyright holders have given you the rights to do with the picture whatever you want to do with it, is another matter. There is no explicit license on the site so I guess that private use would be allowed.

As a web designer I could have told him this but decided not to as the website (http://www.stigle.co.uk/) suggests he is a proffesional photographer, and a good one at that. I'm sure he'd send the image to 'Monocock' free of charge if heonly wanted to use it for his desktop.

That's quite a wide lens you've got there. Not much of a CAPS fan? Cover & pin still on?

Well, I would somehow expect that a professional photographer would not put his pictures up on the web in the highest resolution, would embed his name and/or copyright in the picture itself and would possibly have a means of ordering the full-resolution picture either digitally or on paper for a small fee for personal use, or for a larger fee for professional use. There are several websites out there who actually do all this for you in case you don't want to develop all this yourself.

They always say it is quite calm before a storm!

Photo of a Rainbow

Does anyone have a good photo of "A Full Circle of a Rainbow"?

During a lifetime of flying I only ever saw two. Once seen - never forgotten.

Yawning Dog Just FYI the CAPS pin is removed and the cover is replaced, Sorry I did not realise the photos were like this, would be more than happy to ask Tony to email anyone if they wanted them.
