Why are Canadians called hosers by Americans?

Interesting question!! HA HA!!

I believe it has something to do with a duo called Bob and Doug MacKenzie!!

There is a reference to it in the South Park movie so it must be true.

JoeCo is correct. It comes from a comedy series called the Second City Television Network with the dynamic duo of Bob and Doug McKenzie. The series of skits was called the Great White North. Where Bob and Doug were often heard to exclaim "Take Off Eh!, Ya Hoser!

Also, the reason why Canucks say 'Eh' all the time is derived from the way our countries name is spelled:

C-Eh-N-Eh-D-Eh!

I had forgoten the the name of the skits, and they're funny as hell, but certainly would make someone from outside of Canada start asking some questions.

So how far off shore are you? Who are you flying with and what are you flying?? Just interested??

Oh, and hey Lu.....Take off Eh!! Ya Hoser!!!!
There, it's oficial!!
