Do you have to be a rotary instructor to teach on a heli-based procedural IR sim?

I see that Fast Helicopters have an advert for a sim instructor on their website and that fw instructors can also apply.

According to AIC 72/2007 there have been changes to JAR-FCL2:

General requirements for instructor ratings and authorisations (JAR-FCL 2.310) Revised pre-requisites for FI(H) course (JAR-FCL 2.320A), restricted privileges (JAR-FCL 2.320B) and revalidation of FI(H) rating (JAR-FCL 2.320G). Reduction in experience for TRI(H)course pre-requisites (JAR-FCL 2.330B). Amendments to courses for TRI(H)(Appendix 1 to JAR-FCL 2.330C) and IRI(H) (Appendix 1 to JAR-FCL 2.340C).Introduction of Synthetic Training Instructor (STI(H)) (JAR-FCL 2.360A to 2.360F).

These effectively require Helicopter experience to become an STI(H); however due to the shortage of suitably qualified people there are some dispensations in place to allow fixed wing STIs to conduct some helicopter training in an FNPT.

That advert has been about for a LONG while :uhoh:

Read into that what you will. More than one former Fast FI frequents these pages (alternatively a search will help), and historically the turnover has been regular :eek:

Knowing a few of them both past and present, I don't believe things have changed much :ugh: :{
