According to the latest Flight International Magazine, Privatair is seriously considering starting up a 6-times weekly BBJ service (with 48 business-class seats) linking Geneva and New York.

Evidently, the business community in Geneva has been pulling for this with Swissair's recent problems... According to the article, Privatair has begun the application-filing process which could take a few months. Given that Privatair already has a well-known and established worldwide charter operation, approval may not be far off.

It seems to me that this type of operation might require more pilots if it operates on a scheduled-basis. Privatair currently operates 3 BBJs, 1 737-300, 1 Gulfstream IV and a Boeing 757 that is in the process of being withdrawn. Privatair is also tied to a US company called FSG - an aircraft-management company that operates a multitude of corporate iron (Gulfstreams, Challengers, etc.).

Anyone know if Privatair is currently seeking additional BBJ pilots? Would this be a good alternative for a Swissair pilot? Anyone know what it is like to fly BBJs for this operation?

Sounds like an interesting opportunity... Anyone got any additional news related to Privatair?

Cheers
