Looking at the BA Web site and their FAQ, I came across this Q&A:
---
Q) I heard there was an issue with airline insurance - are you insured to fly?

In response to the UK aviation insurance issues, Robert Webb QC, General Counsel of British Airways, confirmed on 21st September: "We have reached agreement with the UK Government and the insurance industry and have secured the continuation of appropriate insurance to enable us to continue flying all those British Airways flights which British Airways plan to operate itself. There will be no question of our grounding any of our own fleet, nor is there any reduction in the monetary limits of insurance cover available to us."
---
Fine. No problem with that. But how many people know that most of Spain and Portugal are covered on behalf of BA by GB Airways, a franchise operator. Does this apply to them also, or as the statement says, the insurance only applies to which BA "plan to operate iteself?"

The planes flown by GB are identical, so how is a pax to know that it's not BA?
