Air Med Seneca on long finals to 01 Oxford. Called emergency and went down in Wytham woods, about 4 miles out.

One pilot, no passengers. Pilot is still alive but in intensive care.

Fingers crossed.

Apparently he didn't call an emergency - not one that was heard by Kidlington anyway. It seems the last r/t was from Kidlington requesting that the pilot reports visual with the lights and then nothing. A passing heli, working BZN, was vectored onto the last known position of the aircraft and, after a few sweeps of the area, reported smoke/possible fire. Local emergency services and a SAR helicopter were then sent to the scene. However, it took a long time to find him because of the fog and trees.

Took that on November 3rd, fits into the 'Twin Piper' category.

Hopefully all is ok

The pilot has connections with the club where I fly. As of this afternoon, latest news at the club was that he's 'making progress'. May I join those wishing him all the best for a speedy recovery.

The Oxford Mail website names the pilot as Tom Miller and says that his condition is serious but stable.
