View Full Version : Eurocontrol N,K,U classes vs ICAO?
I think I read somewhere Eurocontrol trashed the idea of moving to three-class (N,K,U) airspace classification and decided to keep 7-class ICAO approach. Spent a while on erocontrol website, but cannot find any evidence of that.
I'd appreciate any reference.
As far as I am aware the idea of unsing N K and U as airspace classes has be shelved.
The current thinking is that it is better to stick with the ICAO classifications and une ones that best describe the N K and U proposals.

I can confirm that N K and U have been binned. Reverting to ICAO classifications, but with uniformity in the rules of each classification across the EU - common rules to be decided.
Has it surfaced already on any source other than the forum?

I got the information from a presentation at Eurocontrol recently, attended by the Europe Air Sports airspace representative who is Secretary General of Deutscher Aero Club. Reliable sources.
