Hi. I was just going to inquire how abouts I could get my Beech 1900 Type rating in Miami area.

First of all I am a canadian citizen and will shortly have my Canadian Multi IFR.

What is required to do a Beech 1900 Type Rating in the states? More so, is it even possible. (I read on a previous 2001 post that foreign pilots could not do this since 9/11).

If it is possible, would i have to convert my license to FAA? I would also like to know if I can do some time building in the states?

Im not sure if i would need a student visa or what.

Any information would be appreciated!

Flight Safety Intl has a 1900D sim in YZD (Toronto Downsiew)

Manufacturer: HAWKER BEECHCRAFT CORPORATION--BEECH
Aircraft : BEECH 1900D
Course Type: Pilot - Fixed Wing
Course Title: Pilot Initial - 15 day course
Description: This curriculum is the approved course of training that can lead to an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate or an added type rating to an ATP Certificate or Commercial Certificate in the BE 1900 Series aircraft.

Notes: Beech 1900 UA/UB and UC series differences are taught at the end of Beech 1900 UE groundschool baseline program.

It would a lot easier to get the type right here in Canada then convert it to an FAA ticket later on...

Good luck!

Hey, Congrats on finishing up your MIFR.

Just curious, how does one do 'time building' on a 1900? Or is that separate from the rating?

Flight Training International (FTI) in Denver, Colorado offers the Beech 1900 type rating. Last course price was quoted as $7,550 USD. Half the price Flight Safety will charge in Toronto.
