Please excuse if this appears naive. I have only recently read of Jabiru engined Tipsy Nippers are these Nipper mark IV ? Who holds design authority for them?, are they new build or conversions? How many are there in U.K. / rest of europe?
Sorry it is all questions, they are a bit lighter than my normal sphere of interest, but I am trying to learn !

I have never come across a Rotax engine in a nipper and it is a bad idea. The one weakness of the Rotax is it is non aerobatic, and the nipper is quite good at aeros. There are some Jab powered nippers, which are direct replacements to the VW Ardem and Stamo conversions. The Jab is aerobatic and has 85hp against the nippers 45 hp.
I had a VW 1834cc (about 60 hp) version which was good fun until the crank broke.

My error thanks for pointing it out. Senior moment I thought all new
generation light aircraft engines were either diesel or rotax. It is
the Jabiru ones I was enquiring about.

The Nippers with jab engines I have seen have all been conversions. The PFA approved a firewall forward kit from ST Aviation some time ago. I do not know the numbers but a search of G-Info will solve the UK side of that. I have not seen one for sale for a while but I think about £14k was the going rate.
