From our company port page of Auckland the following speed restriction apply:

Arrival = Max IAS 250KTS below 10,000FT within 30NM, unless otherwise approved or instructed by ATC.

Departure = Nil.

Correct, up to a point.
See here http://www.caa.govt.nz/rules/Rule_Consolidations/Part_091_Consolidation.pdf
for ops in class D, E F or G airspace (IFR) and class C, D,E,F or G airspace (VFR), not above 250KIAS below 10000.
More good info re- NZ ops in the online AIP at
http://www.aip.net.nz/default.aspx
Try it. It's free!

I didn’t realise there was a difference for VFR operations. I just assumed that Pacificbird was referring to high capacity RPT ops which generally always operate to the IFR.

Thanks, and yes I was referring to high capacity international, IFR ops....:ok:

Cribble,
thanks for the reference, at least now I can back myself up with knowing how I came across the information and where to find it. Cheers....:p

Understood.
I assumed there would be expansion outside AKL, WLG, CHC, particularly to DUD or QLZ which, from memory (it has been a while), involve class D.
Safe ops.

How does this apply when ATC say "no speed," according to this rule it is not legal to exceed 250kts, or am I missing something here. Another rule perhaps. :)

Question - Is Welington not class C airspace?

C was not included in the list of airspace shown.

It is virtualy the same as her in Oz.
