I am looking at basing an aircraft in North Lincs.

I believe there is a private strip near Louth with a 800M hard runway.

Does anyone have any details?

If my memory serves me correctly, these are the nearest airfields to Louth. The first two are grass, as is Skeggy, and I couldn't say if they are even still used. Strubby is used for gliding, not sure if they allow powered flying.

Louth - Hall Farm - N53°19.5 E000°04.4
Louth - Stewton - N53°21.5 E000°02.0
Strubby - N53°18.3 E000°10.1
Skegness - N53°10.5 E000°19.7
North Coates - N53°30.3 E000°03.8
Wickenby - N53°19.0 W000°21.0

Slightly further afield and you have Humberside Airport which is relatively cheap, as airports go.

There is also Sturgate Airfield near Gainsborough. Over 800M tarmac on main runway (09/27 with lights) and also 14/32 which is tarmac about 450M. Hangarage is available through the Lincoln Aero Club who operate the airfield during the weekend. During the week it is run by Eastern Air Executive, who are able to provide outside parking and do maintenance as well. Outside parking used to be quite cheap, but best to contact them and they could give you a better idea.

I think you must mean the Strubby (Old Heliport) site.

There are now two airfields on the old Strubby site.

The Old Heliport has a 750 metre tarmac runway and a 700 metre grass runway. It is about 150 metres from the gliding site, running parallel to it.

I believe that since North Coates runway was torn up this is the only hard runway on the Lincs coast.

They have outside parking a plenty, but hangarage is limited.

When I last spoke to them they were applying for an increase to the allowed movements with the intention of building a second hangar.

I suspect that the hangar project will only go ahead if there is sufficient interest from aircraft owners.

Nice to see a new site developing, especially one that will be less vulnerable to wet winter ground conditions.

I will send you a pm with the operators contact details.

North Coates: http://www.northcoatesflyingclub.co.uk/

Says they have 660m of grass, 05/23, and hangarage, for which there is probably a waiting list.

That's North Coates you are talking about, whereas the one I was referring to is Strubby Old Heliport
