From Eastern Daily Press website this afternoon:

Light aircraft crashes at airfield

'Two people have escaped uninjured after their light aircraft crash-landed at a Norfolk airfield today.

The pair - understood to be a father and his young son - were able to walk away from the crash shortly after 1.30pm today at Old Buckenham airfield, near Attleborough.

The two-seat Citabria plane suffered extensive damage and is believed to have been written off.

Fire crews from Attleborough, Wymondham and Hethersett attended the scene, along with the air ambulance, a land ambulance and police. The pair did not require hospital treatment.

The accident will now be the subject of an Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB)'

I wouldn't like to say if it is a local aircraft or not - there's only one registered locally, that I know of, as well as a few a bit further afield in Lincolnshire and Essex - at least the occupants were OK

No dramatic escape from near certain death, plummmeting, pilot fighting with the controls, narrowly missing school/old people's home etc etc

Balanced reporting from the publishers of "Pilot".:D

It was the one based at OB, G-BRJW. I won't comment on the cause as a) I wasn't there at the time and b) I'm not an expert. The occupants were lucky though. I understand the pilot had a black eye and his son a grazed knee.

I heard an eye witness account of the incident, and the occupants are very lucky not to be seriously hurt, anyway I'm glad that the injuries were not too bad.
Pity about the Citabria as it is seriously damaged,I did my spin training in the aircraft and was looking forward to doing my two year check in her.

Cusco, may need more than one syllable ;), but here goes:

1) Copy and paste text you wish to quote
2) Mark (highlight) said text
3) Click the furthest right button, i.e. the quote button, in the control panel above the text area.
4) Voila! You've got yourselves a quote !

Not being an expert on Citabras, here's three things I noticed from the picture.

a. Leading edges of the wings are no longer in line. Even assuming dihedral (do high-wings need dihedral?), they should intersect mid-fuselage, which they don't.
b. Elevator assembly also doesn't seem to be in line with the wings.
c. Complete engine assembly, including the mounting frame, seems to have come off.

Be interested to see if they do get it repaired, or whether it's a complete write-off. I suspect the latter.

The general impression I got yesterday while I was there was that it would be a write off.
