Does anyone know the name of the yearly organised group fly out to Africa (I think its Paris to Mali via Spain,Morrocco etc)
And are there any others like it?
It is not uncommon for flying clubs in France to organise that sort of event one in a while. Sorry I do not have more specific information at the moment.

On the question of similar excursions, Air Aventure out of Toulouse organise an annual foray in the footsteps (wake) of the Aeropostale service. The route is Toulouse - east coast of Spain - Morocco - Western Sahara - Mauritania - Saint Louis de Senegal and return via essentially the same route. Trip takes two weeks.
