The Freephone AIS Information Line has not up till now been accessible from overseas because the number (0500 354802) does not work outside the UK. AIS have now published the destination number, which will allow you to use the service from outside the UK. It is 020 8899 2401.

A call to either of these numbers gives you details of all temporary and emergency restrictions of flying (e.g. Red Arrows) as well as details of temporary airspace upgrades (e.g. Royal Flights) for the day.

Useful info. Deserves to be a sticky for a few weeks, as far as I'm concerned. Thanks.

Use it from a mobile phone in the U.K. It will normally be in your "bundled" minutes, where as "free" number won't, and will quite probably cost you a bit.
