Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell what the "05" refers to in this METAR for Jakarta. I'm guessing that it's a descriptor for the reported VIS, such as "haze", but I'd appreciate any definitive answers:

WIII 100830Z 35007KT 300V030 8000 (05) FEW025 SCT120 32/24 Q1007 RMK NIL NOSIG

A web reference would be great too!

Many thanks,
VS

According to the U.S. site, the 05 appears to be 5sm visibility. Go here:

http://adds.aviationweather.gov/metars/index.php

and enter the ICAO code and hit the TRANSLATE button on the right.

8km=5sm
